Mark V Sporadically Tunes Down the Band

Problem: I have been frustrated for months trying to figure out why my FT1000 MP MKV sporadically tunes down the band. There is another reported problem logged which is similar to this, but I found that the problem in my case was a short in the rig as it was delivered.

Solution: It seems that the wire connected to the shuttle jog slider behind the main dial was mounted too close to the front panel so that if there is any exposed wire it shorts to ground on occasion when the dial was moved. I pulled it slightly out and place a small amount of electrical tape behind it and the problem went away.
